Who Is Reiki Master Teacher Anyway?

First thing first. Technically speaking, the Reiki Master Teacher is somebody,  who has been attuned to reiki Master Teacher Level, and has ability to teach reiki.  (to attune others to different levels).  So, if this is so… does it than matter, what Reiki Master Teacher you learn from?

Now, before moving along, I want to be fair and warn you, that if you expect me to say that right Reiki Master Teacher should have long white beard,  who has mastered Japanese, and who doesn’t drink coffee, ..this will not happen. And if this is what you are looking for than it might be time to look somewhere else.

I am not saying that there is anything wrong with learning,  and speaking more than one language. To the contrary;  it is great, ( I speak a few myself),  but it is not necessary in order to qualify, either to learning reiki or to teaching reiki.

How To Choose The Right Reiki Master Teacher?

We live in times,  when everybody is accustomed to tell us what to do,  what to eat,  how to dress,  how to go about learning reiki,  what Reiki Master Teacher is right for us,  where to travel and so on.  And somehow it is getting accepted and we listen to all the different experts field.  I would say even more than we should.

But it seems to me that, when it comes to learning reiki,  something important is being overlooked here.  To find out what…I have to ask you to join me in “traveling back in time”. No, we will not travel back into ancient Japan to figure out the rooths of real traditional Reiki. What I am asking you to do is to travel back in time,  when you were a baby.

Looking to the world from “down there” was very interesting… or maybe not so- because we wanted to learn to move. So, we started with crawling.  It was amazing to be able to move and it felt so comfortable.  And than…even-though we mastered crawling and it felt so comfortable,  we got to leave it and learn to stand up. That’s right. In the process we kept falling down,  and possible hurting us but we kept “bouncing back” determined to succeed. It wasn’t an easy path but we learned that not each “fall is made equal” , and before we learn to stand up and walk we had first to master how to fall. This was great experience! And finally we were there, standing and even walking. One step, two steps…and so on. Each time one more step and soon we were running.

 Real Reiki Master Teacher!

When we think now about that it is a real mystery. How that little baby learns to walk. Well, there was somebody who helped it and that somebody isn’t daddy or mommy. While Daddy and Mommy were involved in the process I am talking about that something, that was there to help that baby on each and every step of the way. I am talking about the REAL TEACHER that resides in us and who has helped us all the way till this very moment. Sometimes we do not know that we got the help but it never stops working for our very best.

Now, this is the Reiki Master Teacher I recommend to You! You have all the power within you no matter what other say. Look, when the chips are down and harsh reality hits this is the only power you really can count on. Having Reiki Master Teacher,  who was featured on popular papers front page will not help you a bit.

When you are totally alone,  and waiting for that something bad to happen,  and everything else seems to be working against you…than…this is the only source we can go to,  and pull that strength and say: “It is enough! I chose to live”! I understand that there will be many high profile thinkers who will disagree with this and that is their right to do so. But if they had been with me one of those cold nights up there watching the death coming their way…well, I bet they would come to realize that nothing else matters.

Probably one of the biggest secrets is that we DO HAVE A CHOICE. It is true that sometimes we are not aware of it but it is important to understand that if we do not make a choice for ourselves,  than somebody else will.

To conclude this post devoted to Reiki Master Teacher, if it is not clear by now,  the point I am making is that no matter what other say…you will know when you find the right Reiki Master Teacher- or even do you need one in the common sense of the word.

It needs too be pointed out that reiki self healing could also be carried out via absent reiki. This of course assumes that reiki practitioner has received necessary training and attunement and is knowledgeable of reiki healing symbols. Reiki self healing via absent reiki comes very handy when we have to treat our back or other body area which would be hard to reach otherwise. In addition it is very easy to performmmm any other reiki self healitechniqueueuee via absent reiki and practitioneronerner do incorporate absent reiki in their daily reiki self healing practice.

Since it is very commonnn to hear how important it is to practice reiki self healing during first twenty one days there is some misconception that reiki self healing practice after the first twenty one days of attunement is not that important any more. To take full benefit of reiki self healing process one should practice daily. The reason for this is very simple. In our life we are exposed to various levels of stress on daily bases therefor it is very important to deal with and prevent that normal energy flow gets blocked due to buildup of possible energy blocks.

What Is Reiki Treatment?

During Reiki Treatment person to receive reiki treatment usually lies down on the reiki table (or even on the ground), and remains fully closed. Hands-On Reiki Treatment.

Hands-On Reiki Treatment refers to treating “in person” so to say. There are three approaches to hands-on reiki treatment: Intuitive Approach to Reiki Treatment, Full Body Reiki Treatment and Localized Reiki Treatment. Let’s now look into each one of them:

Reki Intuitive Approach To Reiki Treatment

It is said the Dr. Usui was using intuitive approach to reiki treatment. It is usually referred to as Reiki Byosen Scanning and is based on scanning body for the problem area (or hibiki). This technique is based on the idea that negative energy or hibiki will give different sensations due to different vibration. While this technique seems to be simple in its form it is rather considered to be advanced technique and it assumes that practitioner already have developed his/her subtle energy sensation ability. To make things even more complicated not everybody will experience the same sensations. One could feel pulsing while for other it could be some sort of pulling, tingling, heat, coolness or even pain. In addition to this another point to consider when using intuitive approach during reiki treatment is that while the source of illness may be at one point its manifestation could be somewhere else in the body.

The practitioner does this technique by starting from the prayer position making his intent statement and start scanning person usually from the top of the head and moving slowly down the body. The hands are usually held 1-2 inch away from the body.

What Is Reiki Attunement?

So, What is reiki attunemnt? You might already have heard about the Reiki Attunement and have ever since wonderedd what the reiki attunement really is and what happens during the reiki attunement process.. The Reiki learning process is a little bit different than we could expect it from common sense of the word “learning”. Access to Reiki is gained through so called reiki attunement or reiki initiation process. Reiki Attunement is ceremony in which Reiki Teacher performs pre-set number of positions which can varie between different Reiki styles. There are several types of Reiki Attunement:

• Reiki Attunement in person
• Reiki Attunement via absent Reiki or Distant Reiki Attunement
• Self Reiki Attunement

Let’s now look into each one of these:

Reiki Attunement In Person

Reiki attunement in person is probably most known type of Reiki attunement. As the word itself implies reiki student will attend “life” reiki 1 seminar which is usually done in two days (but can vary depending on Reiki style and Reiki Teacher). Ones the administrative task is out of way teacher usually introduce the class and give opportunity to all student to say few words about themselves and what they expect from this class. Also if there are some questions they are answered.

This is great opportunity for both the student and the Reiki Teacher to clear the reasons why one wants to receive Reiki Attunement. It is expected that Reiki Teacher will advise student if he was mislead that he would become immortal or holly as the result of Reiki Attunement and/or the result of learning reiki.

It is common that during Reiki 1 Seminar Reiki student receives four reiki attunements spread over two days. This of course varies from teacher to teacher. Each reiki attunement last fro about 15-20 minutes. During the reiki attunement student sits comfortable in the chair, keeps his/her eyes closed and other than that isn’t required to do anything else. Some Teachers recommend some preparation regime such as but Reiki Attunement will work without that as well.

Distant or Absent Reiki Attunement

Distant reiki attunement attunement is viable option to In Person reiki attunement but the opinion about it varies between Reiki Teachers and goes anywhere from simply dismissal to full acceptance. Some of the reason against say that student misses the opportunity to have first hand experience and of course ask the question he/she might have. This of course if valid objection but thanks to today technologies this seems almost to be obsolete. In addition most if not all Reiki teacher who offered distant reiki attunements are accessible either via e-mail or even more popular via Skype.

The technical aspect of distant reiki attunement itself is the same as reiki attunement in person and it is done via absent Reiki (using the symbols for distant reiki). Student and Teacher would set the time for this reiki attunement and student would ensure that he/she is not disturbed during this process. Usually reiki student will receive some material before the attunement process itself so he/she can read about that and ask the question before the attunement process itself. I was on both end of distant reiki attunement and know for sure that it works.

There is some variation of distant reiki attunement that is based only on intent to carry out the reiki attunement and it is believed that it is Higher Self that carries out this attunement. I do not have enough experience with this type of attunement and will not talk about this in this post.

Reiki Self Attunement

This kind of Reiki Attunement is rather little bit controversial to say the last. Many Reiki Teachers flatly dismiss it while others are open for the possibility that it might work. One of the best known system that is based on self attunement is Chikara Reiki Do You might have seen some of theirs ads saying that Dr. Usui had attuned himself therefore it is possible for everybody to do it.

This seems to be perceived by some Reiki Teachers as an insult to Dr. Usui for being somehow compared to us “simple mortals”. I do not see it this way. I believe that it is far more insulting if people using Dr. Usui name for their reiki styles and yet there seem not to have two people who agree on what Dr. Usui was teaching. So, I think using Dr. Usui name is rather misleading to the extent that it seems that nobody really knows the original teaching of Dr. Usui.

I have carried out self reiki attunement and I fell in love with it. This entire system is based on empowering the student to believe in his/her own abilities and power to take charge of his/her life. No need to have guru who will tell you if you are ready or not. In addition this system attunes all the chakras and not only two as most of other reiki styles do so this is more powerful attunement. So, yes this is totally different type of reiki attunemetnt that in my opinion will change the way Reiki is thought. And yes, this is very effective attunement.

The attunement itself is also based on the power of intention and water. Yes, the water. Water has the ability to accept, store and transfer information. Reiki Student will prepare and carry out the self attunement ceremony. He/she will get all she needs to carry out this type of attunement.

I understand that this is very new for a lot of folks out there and there is a lot of interest to find out more about this unique style. With that being said the full Reiki Chikara Do review is coming soon.

What Happens During Reiki Attunement?

Now that we covered different types of reiki attunement it is time to look into very important question:”What happens during the reiki attunement?” and as we are already used to it also here we find a lot of different opinions. While many believe that Reiki Teacher transfer the ability to channel reiki to reiki student by opening student’s crown, heart and hand/feet chakras some claim that we had this ability ever since but have forgotten about it. So, who is wright who is wrong and does it really matter at all?

We got to understand that this passionate debate has been ongoing for some time now and this blog will not even attempt to settle it. Different people have different approaches to pretty much everything so why would Reiki be different. We have the right to explore and experience the world in the way it make sense to us and that’s where I will leave it.

Reiki Chakra Balancing: Why Is It Important?

When I first learned about the world of the reiki chakras it was so overwhelming. The possibility that there was “something” that affect my overall well-being and that I didn’t know anything about it, was pretty scary. I wanted to learn more about these chakras and entire chakra system so consequently I had many questions such as:

• Why chakras spinning?
• Why chakras got blocked?
• How to Balance & Heal Chakras.

Why Do Chakras Spin?

It is believed that two opposite energy currents keeping the chakras spinning. One being Earth energy entering the body through the root chakra moving upwards and exiting the body through the Crowne chakra. Second being the Heaven energy that enters the body through the crowne chakra moving downwards and exit the body through the root chakras. So this consistent energy flow in opposite directions keeps the chakras spinning.

Why/How Do Chakras Get Blocked?

It is believed that stress, fear, and anxiety leading to chakras malfunctioning. If any of the chakras gets blocked the normal energy flow is disrupted and therefore the area influenced/governed by this chakra will suffer and eventually this will cause disease.

Reiki Chakra Balancing & Healing

While there are many other ways to work on chakras in this post we will focus on the reiki work on the chakras. The twelve positions of full body treatment seem to be designed to address and supply main seven chakras. However, reiki chakra balancing technique offers more specific way to work on chakras. It is recommended to balance chakras especially if one of our chakras is dominant.

In this technique hands are placed on different chakras to balance them. Some like to pair seventh chakra with the first chakra, than proceed sixth and second, fifth and third, and finally both hands are placed on the heart chakra.

Some however, do not pair seventh chakra with the rest and chose to pair sixth chakra with first, fifth with second, and finally heart and third chakra.

Second method that we want to mention has to do with reiki chakras balancing and harmonization of each chakras (from 6^th to 2^nd) that open at the front and the back of the body addressing “giving” and “receiving” aspect.

In this technique one hand is placed at the front part of the chakra while other hand covers back of the chakrs. It is believed that this also will be great help if chakra is not connected well with the main energy channel.

What Are Reiki Chakras?

The term Chakra itself is Sanskrit and is translated as a wheel, spinning wheel, or as some refer to chakra as wheel like vortices. It is believed that the reiki chakras are responsible for reception and transmission of energy and they are located in subtle body. While there are many reiki chakras it is very common to speak about seven major reiki chakras which are located along our spine (NOT in physical body) in ascending order starting from the base of the spinal column and moving upward to the scull.

Anodea Judith, the author of “Wheels of Life” gives modern interpretation of the chakras as
centers of activity that receives, assimilates, and expresses life force energy. The word chakra literally translates as as wheel or disk and refers to a spinning sphere of bio-energetic activity emanating from the major nerve ganglia branching forward from the spinal column. Generally, six of these wheels are described, stacked in a column of energy that spans from the base of the spine to the middle of the forehead. And the seventh chakra which is beyond the physical region. It is the six major chakras that correlate with basic states of consciousness.

It is believed that each of major seven reiki chakras at least influence if not govern the bodily functions near its region of the spine.

They are told that this universal, spiritually conscious life force energy (ULFE) energies and animates all living things and yet for their entire life they have never heard about it! So, what usually follows is dead serious question:”Can I also learn Reiki?”. We certainly can recognize that behind this is well hidden limiting belief. It seems that we as humans have mastered the art of sabotaging ourselves and putting us down. Throughout this blog I will always come back to this and we will look into some techniques how Reiki can help you overcome these limiting beliefs but in this post we want to look more into the question:”Can I learn Reiki?”

So, Can I Learn Reiki?

For all those who have never experienced Reiki I would like to answer this question to you as simple as possible. Yes, You Can Learn Reiki. And learning reiki is surprisingly easy. Reiki is not thought in the common sense but rather access to this amazing ULFE is gained through something what is called attunement. It does not depend on intellectual capacity or any religious belief.

Now, I want to point out that one can get attuned by attendingg some Reiki 1 seminars where he would get usually four attunements within one or two days. The option to this would be to book so called absent or distant attunement by the same (or any other) Reiki Teacher. Both options would work just fine. But, it does however suggest that somebody else did something to us. It would imply that we need Reiki Guru. And do not get me wrong even so this would be life changing experience.

But I am here to tell you that there is one more way, even more powerful than the above two. The one where you do not need Reiki Guru but take the charge yourself and you do it from the get go. This than can truly be called life changing experience that would be your reference point that you always can go to when ever you you notice self-doubt.

However, this would require that you do some study as to how to perform self-attunement and if you are truly interested than it is very easy to do. This would be great way to to at the same time get attunement and do something about our limiting beliefs.

I want to conclude this post by saying that no matter what option from the above three you chose it always take more than just the attunement for if you do not do anything with this ULFE than there will be no changes. So, before you decide to go any route you really must answer the question do you really need Reiki and clear the reasons why. While there are so many good reasons why one should learn reiki unfortunately there are few reasons that shouldn’t be considered when making decision.

No matter what you might have been told learning reiki will not make you immortal nor will you become holly. In addition you will still be bleeding after the attunement just as you did before. And last but not least please do not learn reiki because everybody else is doing it. So, keep in mind it is not:”Can I learn Reiki?” but rather why do I want to learn Reiki!

 It seems that Reiki has evolved over the time. In addition Ms. Takata never named her successor and some suggest also that she didn’t teach all her students the same way. So what? She was great teacher and that probably has to do more with where the student was at the time and for me this is the way it should be. If two students are on different level than the teaching approach should be different or otherwise it would be wasting the time. So the question we should ask than is:

Reiki Lineage: How Important Is It?

It seems that the answer will depend who you talking to. While there are many who put their reiki lineage on their resume so to say, to respect their teacher(s) it also seems that due the fact that many would like to learn Reiki the way Dr. Usui thought it, has created opportunity for some to make some quick cash. Therefore, the suggestion that if somehow my Reiki lineage is longer than yours, than my Reiki is weaker or not as good as yours should be taken as misleading for in my opinion there is no such thing as bad Reiki or good Reiki, just Reiki.

My Approach To Reiki Lineage

If you have been following this blog you might have noticed that I have not included my Reiki Lineage which is something that most of RMT did. Does it mean I disrespect my teacher? Not at all! My teacher is very established and respected and he was attuned by very well known and very popular RMT who is actually the founder of very good standing Reiki Style. So, it means that my Reiki lineage is not as long and I could benefit by posting it, right?

Well, here is the catch. I do not think I should be using the fame of my teacher. That is his life. He should be rewarded for his work and enjoy all the benefits that it brings. On the other hand I live my life and I want to be judged by what I am doing and not by who my teacher was. I am entitled to have my own way…especially when it comes to learning reiki.

I made some unique experiences and reiki helped me in unique way so this blog is about my learning experience that I made in my quest to get my life back and I am sharing it with others who might be facing similar obstacles in the way. So, I am saying that it is OK to make your own learning experience because this is all what counts-to not to be afraid to take a charge of our own life and to use our own abilities to master it. It is possible if we dare to think it is possible. And how we change the way we think ..well, this is what this blog is about.

I want to make it perfectly clear that I am not saying that there are no other ways or that other ways are wrong. Not, at all. I am saying that this way worked for me and if it can help you that is great if not you will find something else that sits well with you. It is possible to change your life! That’s the main message I want you to take from this blog and how you going to do it, what method you will use it is entirely up to you.
